Hope everyone enjoyed the snow last week!! I know I did! It is my favorite, it blankets the world in silence and beauty! There is mention we might get a little more in the coming week! So if you missed out on doing snow magic last week, maybe you still have a chance!

Snow is water. It's cold and it's frozen, but it's water. Water is a feminine energy Used for healing, cleansing, and purification, Water is related to the West, and associated with passion and emotion. You can gather snow and use it for different purposes–for instance, wet, sticky snow gathered during a raging blizzard might be used in workings related to high energy and power. A jar full of light fluffy snow collected during a soft, quiet snowfall could be incorporated into a ritual for peacefulness and tranquility.

Using Snow in Spellwork

The most obvious one is that it's cold. It's also white. Sometimes it's light and powdery, other times it may be heavy and wet. How can you incorporate these into your magical workings?

• Build a snowman and use them — as a very large magical poppet. Assign a snowman, or a whole group of snowmen, the magical task of being a guardian at the entrance to your property.

• Got a bad habit you need to get rid of? Form that bad habit into snowballs, and throw them as far away from you as you can.

• Snow quartz crystals are often associated with fulfillment of hopes and dreams. Use actual snow instead of crystals in workings related to wishes and goals.

• If someone is bothering you and won't leave you alone, try this simple bit of magic. Write their name on a slip of paper, and pack it in snow in a jar or bowl. Place the bag in your freezer, and leave it there until the person "chills out."

• Freeze some snow in a bag or jar for use later on in the year, when fresh snow isn't available.

• Go for a walk in the woods on a day that it's snowing. Enjoy the silence, and the magic of the snowfall

Sage Advice

I had so much fun sharing the money bowl last week, we decided to turn January into the month of prosperity and abundance! Which means another money spell!! This week is a candle money spell!

As you are dressing your candle, whether out loud or in your head, speak your mantra for manifesting abundance.

Meditate on your intentions with the candle for at least 10 minutes. As you meditate on the candle’s glow, imagine it growing larger until it fills the room. Then, continue to imagine it growing larger and larger, sending a signal to the universe to send abundance your way 

Let your candle burn down. Alternatively, let the candle burn for a few minutes daily. Extinguish it with a candle snuffer.

Note: Always allow your candle to burn out on its own, or use a candle snuffer to extinguish it. Don’t blow a spell candle out! This blows away your intention.

Night Sky: Venus Kisses Saturn

After several months of courtship, the motion of the bright planet Venus will pass only a generous thumb's width (or 2 degrees) from 200 times fainter Saturn on Saturday evening, Jan. 18. The duo will be close enough to share the view in binoculars and backyard telescopes (orange circle) using a low magnification eyepiece.
