Sage Advice

Many people want to tap into “the luck of the Irish” during the month of March. So we thought we would get a little philosophical for a moment about luck. What does it mean to be lucky? Is it finding a $20 bill on the street? Landing a dream job? Avoiding traffic on a Monday morning? The truth is, luck isn’t one-size-fits-all—what feels lucky to one person might mean nothing (or even be unlucky) to someone else.

Luck depends on personal perspective, goals, and values. So when you are thinking of doing magic pertaining to luck it is important to keep in mind what luck is to you. Then use the tools that bring that feeling to life in you.

Simple items you can do or carry with you to bring in your kind of luck:

Crystals: Green Jade, Tiger Eye, Citrine, Green Aventurine, Clear Quartz, Garnet, Malachite, Peridot, Rose Quartz, Amazonite.

1. Determine what you need luck with and get a crystal that corresponds, or find one that speaks to you and makes you feel lucky.

2. Set your thoughts and intentions into it

3. Carry it with you

Sigils: Create a sigil from your lucky word or phrase

2. Create/design your sigil

3. Use it wherever and whenever you need luck. Stir it into your morning tea, draw it with lotion on your skin.

Mojo Bags: Create a mojo bag with herbs, colors, and stones that correspond with the luck you are needing. Carry it with you.

Colors that many believe correspond to luck:

• Red: In many cultures, particularly in China, red is associated with good fortune, happiness, and prosperity. It is often worn during celebrations like the Lunar New Year.

• Green: Often linked to growth, renewal, and fertility, green can symbolize positive change and opportunities.

• Gold: Represents wealth and success. Wearing or surrounding yourself with gold can be seen as attracting prosperity.

As with all things, you are the magic. You don’t need any special tools or colors or creations. You make your own magic and you make your own luck! So if it speaks to you and you believe it is lucky then use it. 

Night Sky: Mercury at greatest Elongation in the evening sky

Brilliant Venus will shine in the east about 40 minutes after sunset on March 7, 2025, near Mercury. Mercury will reach its greatest distance from the sun at 6 UTC on March 8, 2025. Mercury will be easiest to spot the first few weeks of March. This will be the best evening apparition for Mercury from the Northern Hemisphere in 2025.

March 11 - Mercury Conjunct Venus Retrograde in Aries. 

The messenger of the Gods, Mercury, aligns with Retrograde Venus, infusing their energies together. Here, Mercury imparts some wisdom to Venus, which will later be revealed to us as these two planets end their retrograde cycles in April.
