Happy Pride Month! Here at The Knoxville Sage, we honor love, identity, and the power of living your truth — this month and always. May we continue to create a local and spiritual community where everyone feels seen, celebrated, and safe.

Candie has been busy with work while planning her next trip (without me 😭), and I’ve been following a new path of my own — I’ve officially enrolled to earn my Bachelor’s degree in Metaphysical Sciences, with the option to keep going all the way to a Masters and Doctorate of Divination! I’m so super excited to begin this next chapter and dive deeper into the magical and spiritual studies that light me up. Then to share more of what I learn with you!

Sage Advice

This month, we're exploring the colors of the Pride flag through a magical lens — not just as symbols of identity, but as vibrant reflections of energy, intention, and transformation.

Whether you celebrate Pride personally or hold space as an ally or seeker, there's deep spiritual wisdom in the spectrum. Each color invites us to connect with a powerful aspect of life, magic, and humanity.

In witchcraft, color magic is a versatile tool that can be adapted to various rituals and spells. Here are some common ways to use color in your magical practice:

• Candle Magic: Use specific candle colors depending on the spell's intent. For instance, you might use a green candle in a money spell and a pink candle in a spell for self-love.

• Altar Decorations and Sacred Spaces: Using colored cloths, gemstones, and other items on your altar can help set the tone for your ritual and focus your intent.

• Ritual Dress and Ceremony: Wearing specific colors during rituals can enhance your magical workings by aligning your energy with your intent.

• Glamour Magic: Color plays a crucial role in glamour magic and can be used in makeup, daily dress, and jewelry.

• Crystals and Plant Magic: Like candles, crystals and plants come in a variety of gorgeous colors. The same crystal or flower in a different color can alter a spell to align with multiple intentions.

This week:

• Red

• Orange

• Yellow

Red:

Red is a POWERFUL color. It's the color of blood, so it can be used to represent passion, love, lust, life force, rage, or sensuality...think anything that gets your blood pumping!

Orange:

Orange tends to be an energizing and revitalizing color. It has a lot of the intensity + drive of red, but tempered by the joyful + playful energy of yellow! Orange candles can be burned to inspire creativity, motivation, and confidence!

Yellow:

Yellow is the color of the Sun, and the energy of this hue feels just like The Sun card in Tarot to us! Perfect for inspiring joy, optimism, playfulness, innocence, and renewal!

Now that you've picked your candle color, you could simply light your colorful candle and focus your intentions, perhaps speaking them aloud as you light it! You can choose a smaller candle and burn it all at once, or choose a larger taper and burn it or meditate with it daily or as needed! 

You could also gather objects from around your home or nature of the same color and create a "color altar" for your intentions! 

Night Sky: Daytime Arietid meteor shower

The Arietids are the most active daytime meteor shower. In 2025, their predicted peak is around the morning of June 7. You might catch some Arietids in the dark hours before dawn, shooting up from the horizon. A 1st quarter moon will not interfere.

They have a strong zenithal hourly rate (ZHR)! Meteor counts with radar and radio echoes have indicated a rate of 60 meteors per hour, and perhaps as high as 200 meteors per hour!

Shop Highlight!

When Candie and I were at the Moon Market last month we saw this amazing Queer Rites book! And Lee mentioned the pride Tarot was on the way! So I asked her to do a little write up about her pride display and goings on for the month of June!

So, this is part of the Pride Display at New Moon Rising Gift and Goods! Lee carries a lot of products in the shop that are from LGBTQ+ owned businesses. As an ally she proudly supports queer-owned companies because she wants to see them grow and thrive. 

And A heads up to mark your calendars! Because the shop will be hosting a Human Design event on Thurs., June 12th from 1-4pm (more details next week!) and members of the LGBTQ+ community will receive a 20% discount!
