This week in magick!

Greetings, Magickal Souls!
Candie made it back from Alaska! She shared some beautiful pictures with me! I’ve included one here, and you will see the others on our social media this week.
I have been surviving. I think I’m suffering from some burnout, so I closed down a few projects to make room for better things! Oh and be sure to check out my etsy shop! I have some adorable animal mugs in there with 15% going to local animal rescues!

Candie’s Trip to Alaska!
Sage Advice
As we discuss boundaries, we thought this would be a good time to discuss the Fae folk. Because they are the epitome of setting and respecting boundaries.
The fae are healers, guardians, and even teachers…when they choose to be. But in the same breath, they can be tricksters, deceivers, and even killers…when they choose to be. So, if you plan to work with the fae folk, use extreme caution. Do your research and then do some more. Know how to protect yourself. And know how to respectfully approach the elemental realm.
Working With the Fae Folk
Fairy Gardens and Homes
The easiest and most rewarding fae to connect with are the flower garden kind — including pixies. To invite them in, simply tend a garden filled with native flowers and safe spaces for pollinators. Once the bees, butterflies, and birds arrive, the flower faeries often follow. Creating a small area just for them — with handmade or store-bought fairy houses and decor — is a lovely way to welcome their energy into your space.
Fairy Libations and Offerings
Once your fairy garden is ready, it’s time to leave a few inviting treats. Traditional favorites include milk, butter, cream, cakes, ale—and fresh fruit works beautifully too. Homemade offerings are especially appreciated. When you set them out, offer them with kind words, like: “If any of the Good Folk would like to enjoy this, it’s yours.” After a few offerings, feel free to invite the fae in—but be clear about your boundaries. If you’d prefer they stay outdoors, say so politely. Faeries value respect and good manners above all.
Caring for Wildlife
Another way to connect with the fae is by caring for local wildlife. Whether it’s planting a pollinator garden or volunteering at an animal rescue, the fae are drawn to those who live in harmony with nature. When you honor the Earth and her creatures, they tend to notice.
Dreams and Astral Travel
If you lucid dream or astral project, these states can offer a natural way to encounter the fae. They may appear uninvited, but if you'd like to connect intentionally, set a clear intention before sleep or meditation. Just be mindful—not all fae have kind intentions. If an experience feels unsettling, cleanse yourself and your space. Wards, like placing iron by your bedside, can offer added protection.
Household Fae
Kitchen and cottage witches often feel drawn to household fae like brownies, bean-tighes, and kobolds. If you craft your magic in the kitchen, a domestic fae might be a perfect companion. Create a quiet, undisturbed space for them and invite them in with offerings, candlelight, or even astral connection. Just be sure to learn their lore—some, like brownies, will leave if given clothing, while others, like kobolds, demand respect and should never be mocked.
Signs the Fae Folk Are Near:
Hearing far-off music, specifically harps and flutes.
Things go missing or get moved without explanation (particularly shiny things like jewelry, rings, coins, trinkets, crystals, etc.)
Your garden is thriving! Flowers are blooming earlier than expected, OR seem to have burst forth overnight
Finding a fairy ring in your garden or yard
If a mess has been made of the straw in your garden or barn (faeries love to play in the straw)
You find fairy knots in your hair, OR your animal’s hair
Seeing them in your dreams or during a hypnogogic state
Leaving offerings and finding them gone the next day (bowl is empty, cup licked clean, etc.)
Finding your kitchen or home cleaner than when you left it.
Fairies are invisible and inaudible like angels but their magic sparkles in nature
Night Sky: Moon, Venus, and Pleiades
On July 19, before sunrise, the waning crescent moon will be high in the sky with the lit portion of the moon pointing toward Venus. The star Aldebaran will be near Venus. And the Pleiades star cluster will glitter between the moon and Venus.
Adopt Your Next Familiar

Tatum is a 6-year-old former street cat who is ready to live the good life indoors. This handsome boy is both FIV+ and FeLV+, which means his immune system needs a little extra care—but don’t worry, it doesn’t stop him from being the sweetest, most loving companion you could ask for.
Because of his FeLV+ status, Tatum will need to be the only cat in the household or live with another FeLV+ kitty. Click the button to fill out an application for Tatum!
