Greetings, Magickal Souls!
Besides being out of office for my birthday I really just did a staycation! Although, I did complete certification for Virgin Voyages. Signed up to certify Viking cruises (both adults only cruises) and learn about getting trips curated to maybe visit Salem! Honestly I was never much of a traveler, growing up everything seemed out of reach, but I am learning to enjoy adventuring, even with my anxiety!

Sage Advice
From using their energy, to things they have shed and more. Our connection to our animal companions can even be deepened by their use in our magick.
Always prioritize your pet’s comfort and well-being. Avoid overwhelming them with scents, smoke, loud noises, or intense energies during rituals. Their involvement should always be voluntary and never forced.
Shed fur and feathers
Collect fur, feathers, whiskers, skin or whatever your animal sheds naturally to use as a spell ingredient. These items carry your pet’s essence and can be added to spells or provide a link for ancestor work (if your pet has passed). Here are a few suggestions:
Whiskers (any animal) for balance, communication, or anything to do with the senses
Cat fur for psychic awareness, clarity, creativity
Dog fur for protection, guidance, loyalty, friendship
Rabbit fur for fertility, abundance, luck
Snake skin for change/transformation, banishing, healing
Bird feathers for clarity, peace, anti-anxiety, creativity/inspiration
Hermit crab shells for home, protection, communication
Spirit Connection
Your pet might embody traits that align with certain energies, archetypes, or traits. For example, owls embody wisdom (although they're pretty rare pets) and dogs are widely known for their loyalty. Meditate on what they represent and consider how their energy can inspire or amplify those energies in your home and life.
Dreamwork and Astral Travel
If your pet sleeps near you, their energy can act as a protective barrier during dreamwork or astral projection. Before bed, place a token of theirs (a whisker, feather, or photo) under your pillow to channel their grounding presence. Pet them goodnight and ask that they watch over you during your nightly travels.
Communing With Animal Spirits
Your pet may act as a bridge to other animal spirits. During meditation or divination, ask your pet to guide you to connect with their spirit kin. This can be particularly powerful if you work with animal totems, archetypes, you wish to connect with a particular deity (as mentioned previously), or you're interested in building a connection with local nature spirits.
Incorporating your pet into your magickal practice is a journey of mutual respect, love, and growth. They give us their unwavering trust and loyalty, and in return, we honor them and their spirits by inviting them into the personal and sacred spaces of our craft.
There is nothing truer in this world than the love of a dog.
Night Sky: Moon and three bright stars
In the early morning hours on August 17, the waning crescent moon will move between the bright stars Capella and Aldebaran. On the following morning, August 18, it will lie between Capella and Betelgeuse. Watch for them after midnight through dawn.

Keyser is affectionate, loyal, and has a big personality that makes him a standout companion.
This handsome guy has great drive and would thrive in a home where he can dabble in dog sports or stay active exploring new places. He’s super photogenic and loves being part of the action!
Keyser does best with female dogs and can be a bit intense for more sensitive pups, so he may be happiest as the only dog in the home. He’s extremely affectionate with his people and does great with kids and strangers.
