Knoxville Sage Newsletter #35
This week in magick!

Greetings, Magickal Souls!
My birthday month is coming to an end. So I have a bit of a sad, but spooky season is so close I can taste it! So I will give up August for falling leaves and pumpkin things!
And at least before August ends my husband will celebrate his birthday! So I get one more hoorah!
Sage Advice
Thursday August 28th is Rainbow bridge remembrance day. The concept of the "Rainbow Bridge" comes from the popular poem and story. The poem describes a lush, green meadow where pets go after they pass away. In this place, called the Rainbow Bridge, pets are restored to health and happiness, free from the pain or illness they may have experienced in life. They wait in this paradise until they are eventually reunited with their owners, and together, they cross the Rainbow Bridge into the afterlife.
Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day was established by American author Deborah Barnes, who lost her beloved Ragdoll cat, Mr. Jazz, in 2013. The loss inspired her to write a book, Purr Prints of the Heart – A Cat’s Tale of Life, Death, and Beyond, which explores the deep bond between pets and their owners, as well as the pain of losing them. Barnes created Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day in 2015 to honor her cat’s memory and to give others a way to remember their own pets who had “crossed the Rainbow Bridge.”
So to close out our month on companion/familiar magick let’s discuss bidding farewell and some rituals that can be done to remember your friend whenever the need arises.
Pet rituals—whether big or small—help us process grief, find healing, and celebrate the bond we shared.
Pet rituals to consider:
Naming Their Spirit
Many pet parents find comfort in continuing to speak their pet’s name. It helps maintain the connection and honors their spirit.Creating a Memory Box or Shrine
A special box or corner in your home can house their collar, toys, and photos. This can become a place for quiet reflection and remembrance.Lighting a Candle on Special Days
Light a candle on the anniversary of their passing, their birthday, or other meaningful days. This act can help you honor their memory and feel a sense of peace.Writing a Letter to Your Pet or an Obituary
Take time to write down your thoughts, your favorite memories, and your love for them. It’s a therapeutic way to process grief.Send a Message to the Universe
Some pet parents find comfort in speaking their thoughts or feelings out loud to the universe. It’s a way of letting go while still holding on.Donate to animal charities
Many people choose to donate to animal shelters, rescue organizations, or other pet-related charities in memory of their beloved pets. This act of kindness not only honors the pet’s memory but also helps other animals find love and care.
Have an Animal Communicator Check In
If you have something you need to tell them, or what to know how they are doing on their side. Some animal communicators can assist with this.
Our enchanted partner of the month an has actually checked in on my most precious Cita Rose from when she passed in 2023. It helps me feel better to know she is ok, and discuss life things with her. The last time Afton checked in for me, Cita mentioned how she had been checking in on the puppies she got separated from. She also confirmed times we thought it was her. It brought so much peace and I highly recommend it.
But just like with any magick you do. Do what feels right to you. Do what honors your relationship with your companion.
Full disclosure, knowing I was doing this newsletter for this day was actually why I wanted her to be this months partner, because her service is a great way to find comfort in your time of loss, grief, and remembrance.

Dogs’ lives are too short. Their only fault, really.
Night Sky: Venus, Jupiter, Saturn and Mercury
Look east before sunrise! You can easily catch Venus and Jupiter before dawn. Mercury is tough to see in the morning twilight, but it’s there, shining bravely near the place where the sun will rise. Saturn is visible most the night. It’s high in the west at dawn. And the planets all lie along the ecliptic, the path the sun travels in the daytime

My vision for Learn Heal Grow is that it becomes a place people can meet others, catch up with someone they saw from the last class or event, and trust that the content they are getting is good. The goal is to help people who have a magical business by creating affordable and easy to rent space for them to use.
group space (can hold up to 12 people)
