Knoxville Sage Newsletter #40

This week in magick!

Greetings, Magickal Souls!

Hello Halloween Month!! September ran through here so fast! I can’t believe it is already October and we are almost all the way through 2025! Although it doesn’t feel like October just yet, 80’s all week?! Who did the summer extension ritual?!

Since this is usually a busy month for events, you might see a reduction in the sage advice section to make sure google doesn’t have a problem getting this to your inbox!

Sage Advice

October has a certain magick, as the veil between worlds thins a little more with each passing day. It is urging us to pause and find our center. It’s a time when the world asks for balance, not just in what we do, but in who we are.

It asks you to tap into your own wild independence, to embrace your authentic self without apology.

Some rituals to do to recognize what this magickal month is telling you:

  • Incense and Breathwork - Light a calming incense, such as lavender or sandalwood. Sit quietly and focus on your breath, allowing the gentle smoke to fill the space around you. With each inhale, imagine drawing in balance and clarity; with each exhale, release any tension. Repeat this until you feel harmonized within.

  • Wind Chime Intention Setting - Hang wind chimes in a place where you can hear them. As the breeze moves through the chimes, focus on setting intentions for balance and peace in your life. Each time the wind chimes ring, visualize the air carrying those intentions out into the world, creating harmony both within and around you.

  • Gratitude Jar - Start a gratitude jar for the month of October. Each day, write down something you’re thankful for and place it in the jar. At the end of the month, read through your notes to reflect.

  • Nature Walk -Take a walk in a nearby park or natural area to observe the beauty of autumn leaves and wildlife preparing for winter. Collect fallen leaves or acorns as tokens of the season and reflect on nature’s cycles.

In the entire circle o the year there are no days so delightful as those of a fine October.

Night Sky: October 4th, 5th & 6th.

The bright waxing moon will approach Saturn in the southeast after sunset on the night of October 4. Then on the following evening, October 5, the moon will hang close to Saturn. The bright star Fomalhaut is nearby.

Fomalhaut is known as the “lonely one” or “solitary one” because it shines brightly in an otherwise dim patch of sky. But in 2025, Saturn is nearby. Fomalhaut is of special interest to astronomers because of debris rings around it that are possibly the beginnings of a planetary system.

The crest of the full Super Harvest Moon occurs at 11:48 on October 6. It’ll be the 1st of 4 supermoons in a row. The moon will be visible all night and will be close to Saturn that evening.
