Night Sky: Young Moon

On the evening of January 26, the first quarter moon will lie near the famous Pleiades star cluster, also known as the 7 Sisters. The Pleiades star cluster is in the constellation Taurus the Bull, and its brightest star – Aldebaran – will also be nearby. Then on January 27, the waxing gibbous moon will slowly pass the Pleiades. Binoculars might help you catch the stars near the bright moon. They’ll be visible well past midnight.

Everest is a 1-year-old Pit Bull mix. She is affectionate, snuggly, and a pleasure to walk on leash. She already knows basic commands like sit, stay, and come, and she truly thrives on human connection.

Everest is currently heartworm positive, but her full year-long treatment is fully covered by the rescue. She’s doing well and just needs a loving home to continue her healing. Everest is still figuring out dog friendships, so meet-and-greets are recommended, and she may adjust to cats with time. She’s ready for a calm, kind home to finally call her own.
